Hello ! My name is Martin, I'm 31 years old. Originally from Normandy, France, I have lived in the UK and Canada. Now back in Europe, and looking to meet new people, discover new places, challenge my perception of the world and hopefully help communities.
I used to work in coffee (both as a barista and at a roasting company), events (supervising and creating events in Paris) and webdesign (graphic design is a hobby of mine, I keep updated with data science, the pros and cons of artificial intelligence, as a friend of mine says « Time to save the world from evil robots »)
Communal living and skill sharing really speaks to me : I can teach you French and English, I will gladly help with cooking (I can cook a great quiche lorraine and introduce you to French dishes), taking care of the place, helping fellow Workers. Always with kindness !
I'm a fairly curious person : anything that I don't know, I will try to learn or ask about. I think there are no dumb questions and one can only live more with an expanded view of the world.

Gardening, pruning, planting, watering : I could do for hours. It's my primary passion and I am always very grateful to do something useful for plants, trees, fruits and veggies. In past Workaways, we built flowers patches, plots for vegetables, and kept taking care of the sprouts. Always with a sustainable goal in mind, too.
Taking care of animals since I have a fond loving of them ! Both animal farms, pets, or more wild animals. In the same mindset as approaching plants with respect and mindfulness, I do with animals.
I am able to do some physical work like construction and heavy lifting – but not for long periods of time, it should be temporary help ;)

On the daily, I'm very independent. I do enjoy social moments as well as calmer, more introspective times. My needs are pretty simple : coffee in the morning and a bed to sleep – the rest I can manage !
Hobbies include : meditation and mindfulness, I have lived as a Buddhist monk for two months at the beginning of 2024. I value spirituality and I'm very open to talking about it !
DJing, drawing and painting, cooking for the community, and overall sharing my knowledge of whatever we can think of !
