Hi there,
My name is Luke and I'm from Portland, Oregon. I've spent the last two years traveling and doing seasonal work. My most recent job has been snow making at Snowbasin ski resort in Utah. I've saved up enough money for a trip to Europe in the spring before I return to Oregon for my summer job. I enjoy doing workaways because living with a local is much more adventureous and interesting to me than staying in a hotel. I love learning about unique cultures, meeting new people, and getting my hands dirty with projects.
I'm motivated by learning new skills and being apart of a project where I'll work with like minded people. Nature is my happy place and I love to share my appreciation for the outdoors with others. My hope is to create lifelong friendships with people from different backgrounds and take a glimpse into one another's unique lifestyles.

I'm 23 years old but I've had a variety of different jobs since I was 14.
I was a naturalist on a whale watch boat where I taught school groups about mammals in the pacific ocean. I have experience working on a few different boats as a deckhand. In the off season I did a lot of boat work projects like painting, sanding, varnishing, and installing windows.
The last two summers I've been a surf instructor on the Oregon coast and taught 1 on 1 lessons which required me to be extremely patient with people of all age groups. My work in the ocean required me to make quick judgments in challenging conditions in order to keep my students safe. I have lifeguard, CPR, and first responder training.
I'm a good communicator, a clean roommate, and I love to cook.
I'm willing to put time and effort into learning new skills that will be helpful to my host :)

I love the outdoors and I'm very adventurous. I want to go exploring, swimming, climbing etc. That being said, I also enjoy more relaxing days spent reading, playing games, cooking, and doing tasks. A good mix of both lifestyles makes me happy.
