  • Description

    Hello there!
We're Lucille and Reichen (you can call me Rey), our friends know us as the energetic and sociable couple. We have always been fascinated by people, listening to their stories, sharing ideas, opinions, and most importantly, culture. This is also the reason why we both started our workaway travelling adventures, and how we met 5 years ago in sunny Sintra! Getting to really know the world, and the people in it.

So far Lucille started her workaway in Antwerp (september 2017), then Lisbon, Lake Garda, and then in Sintra, whereas Rey started out in Sintra, where we met volunteering in a hostel. We then lived around Lisbon for 2,5 years working as customer service (Lucille) and as a cook (Reichen), but when the pandemic happened we moved back to Lucille's home country (Netherlands) and started both working in hospitality. We both developed our culinary skills (Rey focused on restaurant cooking, Lucille in baking and lunchcafe's), but since 1 year Lucille is working as front&backoffice for a big hostel. We are also not afraid to get mucky, if things need to be done, they need to be done!

In the past Lucille dabbled in studying Fashion Design, Theatre design and Woodwork, those are all still passions of hers, and she is quite the handywoman. Rey took a college year in Mechatronics, but just loves hands-on work in general. Lucille has been sewing since 11 years old, and Ikea-ing since a toddler with my father (I have expanded my knowledge of plywood into real wood, and alan keys into finger-slicing machines). Rey is also quite the handyman but stars in housework and gardening.

All-in-all we can be of help in various areas, and would like to say we have our collective experience.
