Description
Hello! We are Lily and Archie. Two adventurous, hardworking, and people-loving Kiwis (New Zealanders).
We have been together for 4 years and are fortunate to have gone on many adventures during this time. Whether it is travelling, hiking, swimming, or something completely new, we are always up for the challenge!
After living, working in, and exploring our beautiful country for the past 24 years, we are VERY excited to be out in the big wide world! Lily working as a primary school teacher and Archie as a structural engineer, we have both received 1 year’s leave from our jobs to travel the world and explore and learn about new cultures and places.
Lily grew up on a farm in rural New Zealand. She has experience working with animals, horticulture, and agriculture. Lily’s unique upbringing in one of the most remote areas of New Zealand has instilled in her an incredibly strong work ethic, a powerful sense of community, and a kindness towards people that spreads happiness everywhere she goes.
Archie has both strong technical skills in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects and an incredibly strong work ethic in any manual labour. Whether it be building bridges or picking strawberries, Archie works hard at everything he does, with a relentlessly positive attitude. Archie is also a great people person with experience leading teams and a very strong problem solver who shows excellent initiative.
Some of our key skills are:
• Teaching/childcare: Lily is a fully qualified and experienced school teacher. She also has many years of experience of nannying. Teaching and children are two of the things that bring her the most joy!
• Cooking/baking/catering: Lily is a capable cook. She has experience catering events of all sizes as well as baking and providing day-to-day family meals. (Archie makes a great sous-chef).
• DIY: Archie has spent years on construction sites developing building and trade skills. He is a practical all-rounder, a very quick learner, and shows excellent initiative.
• Engineering: Archie is a qualified structural engineer with strong mathematical skills, proficiency in AutoCAD, and experience in delivering engineering projects.
• Farming: We both have vast experience working on a sheep and beef farm. Whether working directly with animals or in general farm work, we are willing to do it all and not afraid to get our hands dirty!
• Manual labour: We have both grown up around hard work and manual jobs, and our sense of work ethic has never been lost. Now, as marathon runners and multi-day hikers, we are fit and ready for any manual task.
We both love people and work well in a team. Our favourite part of traveling and working is the people we meet and learn from along the way. We demonstrate a high level of adaptability when working with other cultures. We can’t wait to explore the world and would love to learn more about where you call home.
