Description

I'm Leo and I'm currently taking a gap year before going to university to study languages next year. Travelling and experiencing other cultures (especially their languages) have always interested me and once I have worked to save up enough money I will spend the rest of my year travelling East-West United States and then North-South Latin America hoping to fit in as many experiences and chances to practice my languages as possible as well as finding workways where I can stop for longer periods.

I have a particular interest in hitchhiking that I've gained from various book and documentaries that I have read/watched. I would like to see as much of my travels as possible from this perspective and if anyone wants to join me on that mission please get in contact!

Languages are one of main interests. I have studied Spanish at school as well as teaching myself and used the language skills I learned to teach myself Portuguese. I plan to study languages at university next year, both continuing studying the languages I already know and taking on one/some completely new ones.

4 years working in a busy pizza restaurant. 2 of them as a waiter. 2 of them as a chef in the kitchen where I could run any section and do any task independently. I also did general work at events/festivals that the restaurant put on which included setting up/taking down the festival, bar work and working in a food truck.

6 months as a bartender at a very busy pub.

6 months as a bakery assistant in a bakery where duties included making/baking pastries, prep work, packing and deliveries.

Volunteering experience helping organise and run theatre/acting workshops for children aged 6-13.

music: I have played classical piano since I was six and received diploma in piano performance last year. I have played guitar, bass, piano and saxophone in various bands since I was eleven.
