Description

My name is Kate and I'm a nurse who is also studying herbalism. I love working with plants and animals, and exploring new countries and getting to know new people. By volunteering in different countries, I hope to learn more about different cultural traditions of herbalism. I've volunteered on a farm in the US, but this will be my first volunteer experience abroad. Before I became a nurse, I lived and worked in Japan, Germany, and Turkey for 10 years, and love traveling.

I'm a nurse and am used to hard work! I've also spent time volunteering on a farm last summer, and have done a lot of weeding, harvesting (herbs, berries), mulching, and other such farm chores. I've also taught English as a second language before in Japan, Germany, and Turkey.

What else ...

I am very interested in herbs and plants in general, but I'm also interested in learning more about foraging for wild foods. I also make herbal medicine like tinctures and salves. I love reading and learning about everything, but especially about the history and culture of the areas I'm visiting. I also love doing yoga and being active.
