Hi there! My name is Kristina and I'm a goofy creative queer person who works as an educator with students that have disabilities or learning differences. I'm a big nature lover: I have a lot of plants at home and I camp and hike as frequently as I can. I want to get into backpacking as well. Being close to nature makes me feel at home and reconnects me with the truth that we are all interconnected. In my free time, I work on my creative projects, spend time with loved ones, and participate in local activism. I am also quite committed to my Buddhist practice.

I'm on Workaway because I feel called to learn more about sustainable practices and to deepen my understanding of how to live in a symbiotic relationship with the earth. Specifically, I want to broaden my skills in growing food. I think growing your own food is such a sacred process and I want to try it on a wider scale than the balcony gardens I've created and harvested. I have dreams of living in an off-grid sustainable way along with other kind-hearted humans that I'm in community with. I also just have a month off of work in July, and am craving some new experiences!

Although I am local (I live in the Southbay region of the SF Bay Area, California), I was born in Russia, raised on the east coast, and have traveled quite a bit. I definitely have stories to share and I am excited to connect with people of different backgrounds!

I'm looking to build and pick up skills through my work away opportunities.
Professionally, I am an educator.
Outside of that, I am a jack of all trades. I have intermediate skills in gardening, cooking and baking, and carpentry -- I can build a shelf and paint a room! :) With tutorials/some instructional information, I can pick up a repair. I'm also fairly skilled at child and pet care. I'm a deeply creative individual as well.
