Description
I am a 24 y. o. young translator and gardener raised in a multicultural background in Mukachevo, Transcarpathian region, the westernmost edge of Ukraine.
Since my childhood I have been raised in the spirit of being in harmony with nature. Spending time in nature is obviously a huge part of my life: gardening became my everlasting hobby, that taught me the pace of nature, hiking long distances in mountains in different (extremely windy, snowy or hot) conditions taught me endurance and physical exertion, and helping my mother with our family SME - wholesale of dried herbs and roots - helped me to learn about the powerful health benefits of everything given by nature.
This love for nature prevented me from studying in a megalopolis, Budapest, and I've chosen Banská Bystrica, the heart of Slovakia instead, where the hiking trails start literally from the town. While being far away from home, by coincidence I always could find a garden to cultivate plants in. I really love to grow fruits and vegetables and cook from them bio meals.
Later I had an opportunity to study Logistics for a semester in Møre og Romsdal county of Norway, which was really an enriching mobility. During that period I visited a substantial part of Norway - including Lofoten islands, a plenty of fjords, mountain peaks - and even observed a gloria phenomenon for the 3rd time in my life. I was surprised when I spotted a children group of 4-5 year olds from the kindergarten on a trip in the mountains despite wet weather and mud. It is a common habit in Scandinavia. They wore waterproof boots and were so-so dirty but organised. This way the youngest generation gets to know the native region they have grown up in. Another example was an elementary school nearby my university, that had its own garden, in which children cultivate peas and flowers. I wish one day these practices could be brought to life in my home country too.
After a 6-year-long university period I would like to finally stop studying, devote even more time to garden work, learn German and connect with nature as much as I can. Switzerland/Austria/Germany is a perfect match for that. Would be happy to settle on a farm/countryside for a longer time and learn sustainable practices from locals.Interests
