Description
I am a well travelled, lively and enthusiastic, caring woman, full of passion for life! whatever is needed to be of help, I am happy to give it a go! - my easy going, adaptable and happy personality help me through most things in life! I completed aTEFL course in Budapest, and I have taught english in Ecuador, Chile and Spain. I have run my own business in Spain and New Zealand. My work ethic is disciplined and reliable and once I have clear instructions on the job in hand, I am happy to work unsupervised and use my common sense to see what needs doing as I work. Whatever job I am doing, whether it is in the kitchen, the garden or the classroom! i like to do the best job I can.
I speak pretty good Spanish but would love to improve it! and my artistic inclinations have led me to explore, among other things, sandblasting on glass, textile pieces, and glass mosaic work. At the moment I am learning the flute and experimenting with chalk pastels. I like nothing better than to immerse myself in an artistic project.
Over the years I have involved myself in various charities -from the Vietnamese Boat People in Hong Kong to the homeless in London, to name but a couple. i always found it an enriching experience!
I became a helper last year but I have been a host! for three years I ran an arts and crafts gallery in New Zealand and I welcomed many people from all over the world to my home and studio/gallery. It was a mutually enjoyable and enriching experience! and we had a lot of laughs along the way!I recently I spent a month in Uruguay with another exchange organisation! it was a wonderful time. I helped with the gardening jobs and cooking and dog walking (which was a HUGE pleasure!) and generally helped out where needed. Also I enjoyed helping my host with some spanish/english translation work. I later spent a week in Perth with another exchange organisation and staying with a lovely family who I helped out with all sorts of jobs in the garden and house. They are such a nice family and I felt very at home there and have an invitation to go back anytime!
My most recent exchange was in Ecuador where I spent a very happy 4 weeks helping in a hostel on the beach on the pacific coast of Ecuador. My job was to tart the place up! what fun it was - I painted walls and flower pots and renovated all sorts of weird and wonderful things to enhance the gardens and patios! Brilliant!Interests
