I like to learn new skills and am flexible when it comes to tasks. I especially love to be in nature and do something that contributes to the community I travel to.
My next destination:
France View allDescription
Hello there, my name is Saskia from Germany, currently studying cultural sciences (my focus is on history) at an online university.
I have several years of experience working in the hotel industry because I've always been interested in other cultures, so getting to meet people from all over the world is incredibly interesting. Working in the hotel industry has taught me a lot, but I am interested in acquiring new skills and grow more by challenging myself trying out different tasks and jobs in a different culture.
I am fluent in German and English (and a beginner in BSL).
I have been studying Japanese for years and spent almost a year doing Work and Travel all across Japan, where I did various volunteer jobs (hostels, English teacher, renovation, translation, video content, event planning etc.).
I am also self-studying French and Italian.
My next destination is France! I am currently planning on going to France sometime in 2026.
With workaway, I want to explore the world in more depth, learn the local language and culture, while also giving back to the community that hosts me.
I hope we can meet and have a good time together!Interests

More details about your skills
I have finished a three year long apprenticeship in the hotel industry as hotel expert.
After I finished my apprenticeship, I started working in the group & convention department of that same hotel. My job consisted of creating offers for and managing group reservations as well as small meetings and private events.
Due to the pandemic and bad timing, I took a break from the hotel industry for a few years and worked in a corona testing station instead.
In 2022 I returned to the hotel industry, this time working at the front desk of a smaller hotel, which also allowed me to help out in other departments, such as reservations or housekeeping.
I started studying and am currently enrolled in an online university to get a degree in cultural sciences. My focus is on history, which I have a big passion for.Age
