Hello, I’m Anna!

I am 27 years old and originally from Kenya, where I grew up surrounded by nature and camping adventures. Now based in Germany, I have a deep passion for hands-on work, creativity, and sustainable living. I love learning new skills, contributing to meaningful projects, and connecting with people from different cultures.

I am motivated by creativity, hands-on work, and being connected to nature. I find joy in working on practical projects, whether it’s woodworking, welding, or artistic creations. Problem-solving and designing things, which I explored through my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Design) and my apprenticeship as a Mechatronics Technician, also bring me a lot of satisfaction.

One of my favorite creative projects was painting a container for the Molamola Dive Center in Oman. I love working on artistic pieces, and if you’re interested, I’d be happy to share photos of my artwork!

Volunteering with the Scouts has been a big part of my life, and I enjoy sharing knowledge about outdoor living, sustainability, and teamwork. Seeing others grow and learn, especially in a natural setting, is incredibly rewarding for me.
What I Value

What makes me happiest are deep, meaningful conversations, authentic human connections, and being in places where people can truly be themselves. I also value structure, cleanliness, and a respectful relationship with the environment, as these are principles I grew up with and carry with me in everything I do.

More details about my language interests
I am interested in learning new languages because they open the door to different cultures, perspectives, and ways of thinking. Growing up in Kenya and later moving to Germany, I experienced firsthand how language connects people and creates a deeper sense of belonging. Every new language I learn allows me to communicate with more people, understand their traditions, and see the world through their eyes. At the same time, I enjoy teaching languages because I love sharing knowledge and helping others gain confidence in their communication skills. Through my experience as a Scout leader, I discovered the joy of guiding others and making learning an engaging and supportive process. Language learning, in particular, is not just about grammar and vocabulary—it’s about building bridges between people, fostering understanding, and creating meaningful connections.

I have a strong background in both technical and creative hands-on work. My expertise comes from a combination of professional training, personal projects, and volunteer experience:

🔹 Technical & Craftsmanship Skills – I completed an apprenticeship as a mechatronics technician and later studied mechanical engineering with a focus on construction. I enjoy working with my hands, whether it’s woodworking, welding, painting, or DIY projects with various materials.

🔹 Home Improvement & Maintenance – Through frequent moves, I have gained experience in renovation work, particularly painting, furniture restoration, and organizing spaces. In my years as a Scout leader, I regularly maintained and painted wooden structures to protect them from weather and mold.

🔹 Outdoor & Leadership Experience – I spent years volunteering as a Scout leader, mentoring youth (ages 11–18) and teaching them about nature, sustainability, navigation, teamwork, and self-sufficiency. I value cleanliness, order, and a respectful approach to the environment.

🔹 Additional Skills – I am detail-oriented, adaptable, and enjoy problem-solving. I also have a diving certification, which allows me to explore and appreciate nature in a different way.

In addition to my love for hands-on work and outdoor activities, I also have a creative side that I enjoy exploring in different ways.

🎲 I love playing Pen & Paper RPGs, where storytelling, creativity, and teamwork come together to create unique adventures. I enjoy immersing myself in different characters and worlds, making every game a new experience.

🎶 Making music with friends is something that brings me a lot of joy. Whether it's singing, playing an instrument, or simply jamming together, I love the way music connects people and allows for self-expression.

🎨 I also enjoy painting, drawing, and writing—I see them as great ways to express emotions and ideas. Whether it's a small sketch, a creative story, or experimenting with colors on canvas, I love letting my imagination flow.
