  • Description

Hello! I'm an artist, photographer and teacher from the UK! I love all things creative and nature-related and I also love travelling! So far I've been to 26 countries and I'm trying to make it to 30 before I turn 30 in a couple of years! Since 2023 I've been living in Thailand and in my free time have been to Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam and most recently Cambodia. For the past 6 months I've been teaching/ working online but I'm now free until the July the 15th when I'm working at another camp in Bangkok, and then August I'm returning to Europe. I'm ideally looking for somewhere I can learn more about permaculture, self-sufficiency, organic farming or arts/crafts as a creative nature lover. As an artist and passionate gardener I have lots of skills and enthusiasm I can offer (read more on this below!|)

  • More details about your skills

I have two degrees (undergraduate and postgraduate) in Art and Photography and lots of experience in the creative sector! I've worked a lot with video as well as photography so I can create content for you if this is something you need. I'm also more than happy to do any painting, decorating, building or DIY and have lots of experience working with a range of power and manual tools, having previously made sculptures out of wood, metal (MIG welding,) and I've even made a mosaic mural for a place I was WWOOFing at before.

I love nature and gardening and previously had an allotment where I grew my own fruit and vegetables, and have also been a part of community garden collectives. I'm more than happy to help in anything outdoors! I have WWOOFing experience in Australia where I did gardening, DIY, helped build a dry stone wall and did animal care.

I also love animals and previously volunteered at a donkey sanctuary, also running the student volunteering program there for the local university. I've been a vegetarian since I was 11 years old so I wouldn't feel comfortable working on a commercial farm but I'm happy with other animal care as I love animals.

I've been working as a Teacher for over 8 years, teaching art, photography, video and english. I'm TESOL qualified and have taught English to students from over 20 different countries from the age of 4 up to 78. I've worked in a range of educational settings, both formal (including international schools) and non-formal settings.

I have lots of hospitality experience and have managed teams of up to 20 staff, including bars at stadiums such as Twickenham during the 6 nations. I've previously worked as a Customer Service Supervisor at a large supermarket for a number of years and have also managed arts venues and worked in the Box Office/Reception.

  • What else ...

I love swimming and being in water in general- I used to teach surfing for a surf therapy charity called 'The Wave Project' which supports children with additional needs.

I love hiking in nature and foraging! In 2024 I walked the Camino de Santiago (900km in 30 days across France and Spain.) I'm really passionate about the environment and sustainability and have previously written a book on this based on my research paper for my Master's degree.

I love analogue photography and much prefer shooting photos and videos on film, so I do this when I can. I also love analog music such as vinyl and cassettes and previously ran a cassette club!
