Description
My name is Kai and I’m trying my best to see as much of the world as I can! Studying abroad in college gave me the opportunity to travel outside of the US for the first time. After every trip, I felt my mind expand and my understanding of the world forever altered. Traveling has always been a learning experience for me and I love finding that connection is possible in places that seem the most unfamiliar.

I have a degree in psychology and I’m passionate about different ways of healing. I’ve recently been learning about herbalism through working at an apothecary and would love to learn about local plant medicine and farming wherever I go.

Over the last few months I've taught English in a small academy, worked reception at a hotel, served and bartended in a restaurant, painted signs and furniture, and helped with farm/garden work. No matter what I'm doing, every project has been a beautiful opportunity to learn something new and make meaningful connections.

I speak English fluently and Spanish conversationally. I'm not afraid of tough manual labor, I grew up helping my mom around the house with renovation projects like construction and painting. I have experience doing yard work and love working with plants. I've done some social media and marketing work for non-profit organizations. My degree is in psychology and I have a special interest in elderly care. I have lots of experience in customer service and love working with people.

I spent seven weeks here and it was so peaceful and relaxing. I was able to explore most of the other towns on the lake and Santa Cruz is easily one the most beautiful parts (and the best spot to go swimming!). I had a great time helping out in the garden for two weeks. I did some weeding, harvested fruits and veggies, and painted furniture. I spent two weeks here and really enjoyed exploring the property (it's huge!). There wasn't much structure for working, in terms of hours or what to work on, the host really lets you take the lead with that.
