Hi, nice to meet you!
My name is Josephine and I am from Northern Germany.
I grew up in a small town near the North Sea and have lived here ever since.
I am passionate about a lot of things!
I love learning languages and I have successfully taught both German, English and French to children and adults online. I am fluent in these three languages and can speak some Portuguese as well as some Korean.
I love animals - my mom and I have had guinea pigs all my life and in 2023 we adopted two rescue dogs from Cape Verde and Spain.
My first volunteer experience was with Workaway in South Korea in 2022. I stayed on a farm in Gimhae for about a month, helping with the harvest and teaching English cooking to children. After that, I volunteered for a month in Keelung City, Taiwan, helping a small tour company with marketing and translation. I really appreciated both experiences because they gave us an authentic perspective of both countries that you don't normally get as a tourist.
Other than that, I have traveled to many countries in Europe as well as places like the United States, Cape Verde, Egypt, and Indonesia.
The Caribbean has been at the top of my list for a long time and I plan to volunteer in early to mid 2025. As a volunteer, I'd like to get to know a country on a deeper level and also give back to the local community by helping with youth work, animal welfare or conservation. I appreciate the opportunity to connect here on Workaway!

Academically, I have a B.A. in Business Translation, an MBA in Data Management & Digital Marketing, and I'm currently finishing my LL.M. in Information Law.
I have professional working experience as a tutor and language teacher for children and adults. I've been working in sales and business development for two years and can help with communications, fundraising, marketing and translation.
I'm physically able and quite strong and I usually work out 4-5 times a week. Manual labor is not a problem for me.
I'm good with children and animals, my mom and I adopted two rescue dogs and I've also taken care of cats in the past.
I'm always open to learning new skills.
