Description
Hello! I'm Josiah, a 34 year old from Ireland. Over the course of 2026 I'm specifically hoping to gain experience in natural building.
I've spent the last two years growing lots of chemical free veggies on the West coast of Ireland, running a market garden alongside my brother and my partner.
My goal is to gain the skills to build some low-cost beautiful dwellings, workshops, community spaces using natural materials sourced from the land or near locality. Buildings that in turn build community, family, and ideas.
In 2020 I built a cob oven for my parents using Kiko Denzer's book 'Earth Oven' as instruction.
In 2023 I attended a one week long cob building course in Tipperary Ireland in which we constructed a small conservatory extension out of earth, straw, stone and round wood timber.
I also have experience working in conventional construction in Canada so am confident with most power tools and basic construction tasks.
One of my main hobbies is also carving wooden spoons using hand tools.
I consider myself a creative person, I love cooking, playing music, writing.
I'm passionate about regenerative agriculture, low impact systems and ways of life that operate with respect to the natural environment, outside the destructive confines of capitalism.
I think the work-exchange philosophy is great way to travel and meet inspiring humans.
I'm a big fan of all things bicycle and have toured by bicycle throughout Europe and New Zealand.
I'm a friendly, hard working, easy going person. Here's to the next adventure.
