Hi there! I’m Joseph, a 25 year old from New Zealand. For the past two years I have worked for NZ’s Ministry of Social Development as an Information Coordinator, helping ensure that the government department acted in accordance with the Privacy Act. In August, I resigned from this role to finally travel the world. Since then, I’ve been travelling around Europe alone and with friends.

I love to relax by reading books and watching films. I also have a keen interest in politics and love to learn about different parts of the world by meeting new people. My greatest passion is music, and I was very sad that I didn’t have room to bring my guitar and record collection on the road with me!

My work experience includes working for a government agency in a position that required proficiency with computers and the Microsoft Office suite. As this was a senior position in the team, my colleagues came to me for advice. I was someone approachable who they could trust to give sound advice and take decisive action. This was a role which often required communicating with members of the public in tense situations. I was always able to remain calm under pressure and communicate professionally.

Before this role, I worked part time in hospitality to support myself while studying. These were front facing roles which required efficiency and timeliness, as well as solid communication skills.
