I love making things by simple, traditional methods: my career was in artisan winemaking. This was a practice of balance, between letting nature take its course (being passive); and intervening carefully, where necessary, to get the outcomes we wanted (being active).

I recently spent three months doing a permaculture project at my house in California, respecting the needs of the land (water catchment and conservation). This project included permaculture methods and construction using salvaged materials. Most work was by hand, but I have experience using heavy equipment as well and did operate big machines for this renovation.

I love to cook, and especially, bake artisan bread and pizza. I would be happy to attempt this wherever I am, if I can be creative with the tools and ingredients at hand!

And I have an overriding passion for teaching, spiritual growth, ethical/intentional living, and deep connection with my fellow sentient beings!

I like to be helpful and work with a good, clear plan. If there's no plan, I like to help implement one. I take commitment seriously--my own, and yours--but also be mindful whether our arrangement is mutually helpful: if it is, great! We should continue! If something isn't working, then it's good to be honest, even if it means parting company.
