Description

Hi, my name is Joel, from North Carolina!

I grew up traveling with my family and have moved 10 times, so I'm feeling ready and excited to travel on my own. I am very adventurous and independent. I have gained good communication skills and work ethic, as the manager of a pool and working alongside my dad as he renovates houses and manages a team.

I love everything outdoors, like hiking, going to the beach, paddle boarding at the lake, biking, and just relaxing in the sun. I like going to the gym and staying healthy. I also love photography, although that is just a personal hobby, nothing professional. I crochet sometimes; I have crocheted quite a few little things like bees, plants, and pickles haha.

I was born in Spain, raised in Arizona and currently live in North Carolina (USA). One of my sisters has been traveling the world through Workaway for a few years now and has always told me I would love it. The more I learn about it, the more excited I am to get started. (edit: currently at a Workaway in Italy that I started a month ago, I will be here till around October 20th)

Looking forward to creating new stories around the world, gaining new experiences, indulging in new cultures, and making new friends!

I grew up helping my family in church (my dad was the pastor so we had people in our house all the time) and staying with families all around the States and Europe on our travels. I believe these things helped me gain the people skills I have now. I am very social and friendly, with an optimistic spirit.

I have also helped my dad off and on for the past few years in construction, with houses he buys and flips. I have helped with demolition, flooring, vinyl sliding, cleaning, electrical wiring, and yard work.

Last year I started working as a pool attendant and then was later promoted to be manager which helped me improve in leadership skills, time management, communication skills, and customer service skills.
