Hi!
I'm Jimena, a 22 year old Uruguayan that has lived in the UK for the last 7 years, and I have just finished a masters in biophysics from the University of York.
I have loved studying about science these last four years at university, but I am now looking to take a year off to travel and continue developing my language skills, specifically Italian. I really enjoy meeting people from other cultures and learning about different ways of life and their mindsets.
I have experience working in many sectors, I have worked as a barista, bartender, and waitress, as well as teaching English to adults and children. I especially enjoy teaching children and I have had experience babysitting a 12 year-old Colombian girl and helping her with her homework.
I am also a very sporty person as I play handball and football, and as a true Uruguayan I love watching football too. During my time at university, I was captain, president and managed the Instagram of the University of York Handball Club showing my proactiveness, leadership and teaching skills.
I am looking forward to start a new stage in my life by doing a workaway where I can learn more about Italy and improve upon my Italian!
