  • Description

    Hello!

My name is Jenna, and I’m a Spanish and English teacher from Albany, New York. I currently teach Spanish to 8th grade and high school students in my hometown, and I have three years of experience in this role. I also have a background working with young children through teaching, nannying, and Montessori education.

I am fluent in both Spanish and English and have traveled extensively, including studying abroad in Argentina, teaching in Spain, and nannying in Mexico City. I love animals, enjoy organizing and helping with household tasks, and genuinely love working with children of all ages.

This summer, I’m excited to spend July in France to experience French culture, learn the language, and contribute to a family’s daily life with lots of positivity, responsibility, and care!

  • More details about your skills

I am an experienced educator, as I have taught in the classroom in various environments. That is, I have taught English in primary schools in both Argentina and Spain, while I also have experience in American classrooms, as I have substitute taught for a variety of grades as well as taught English to high schoolers for a year. I have been in my current role for almost three years now, teaching Spanish to 8th grade and high schoolers. Thus, I have the ability to craft curriculum, to enact lesson plans, to assess students' abilities, and to manage as well as to lead a class.

I also have experience caring for and teaching young children. I have babysat since my teenage-years as well as been a camp counselor for 2 consecutive years to kindergarten and 1st graders. Additionally, I worked at a Montessori school for 3 months in 2017. There, I cared for as well as taught 2-5 year olds. Thus, I have the patience, active-listening skills, decision-making skills, physical stamina, and compassion that is required when looking after children.
