I am motivated by a genuine desire to contribute towards our collective liberation in whatever ways I am most useful. A want to reduce suffering and increase joy in the world, through laughter, play and community weaving.
Hey, I'm Ila :)
I've spent the last few years deepening my relationship to Earth and our kin, learning from trees and plant beings particularly. I'm really interested in what it means to live in reciprocal ways, ways of being that recognise that we exist in relationship. I've had a really interesting few years since I left school, co-designing a curriculum that invites self-inquiry and teaches about wellbeing from a psycho-social perspective, speaking at conferences and facilitating workshops on all sorts. I feel as though I've fallen into this world of regenerative practice, learning from diverse wisdoms and am finding my way and place where I can both be of use to the world and find joy.
A huge part of this has involved tending to the land in tangiable ways, growing veg and fruit and working on a tree and hedgerow planting project. I have wwoofed in the uk and spent time in community gardens in London and Brighton. I also grow some food at home- currently garlic, tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage and kales.
I'm currently leaning into the role of weaver and seeing how this shapes my life and sense of 'purpose'. I work supporting young education activists by weaving a glocal community of adults and young people who learn together in service of collective liberation. I'm really interested in the magic of holding space for diverse people and communities and my work is, at its core, an inquiry into how we might organise differently and beautifully by growing meaningful relationships with one another.Interests
