  • Description

I am a very adventurous person who loves to travel and meet new people. I am passionate about multi-cultural-ism and building bridges of understanding between people of different backgrounds. I have had roommates with backgrounds that include: Vietnam, India, Saudi Arabia, and Liberia.

My Saudi Arabian roommate and I had some wonderful conversations and shared cross culturally, religiously, and nationally. I did not know much about Islam before meeting him but from him I learned a lot about Islam and Saudi Arabia. He even cooked me some Saudi Arabian food. He became a good friend and welcomed me to visit him in Saudi Arabia where he promised amazing hospitality. He will be a friend of mine for life.

I am committed to personal development, to always learning, growing and developing- essentially evolving. I practice intrinsic work regularly in this area. I can share more about this in person.

My goal is to live more self sufficiently, sustainably and communally. I've always been very drawn to the outdoors, nature, connection and harmony with my surroundings, and community. I've had many experiences on farms living and working with many people and I love that way of life. Looking to make it permanent in the near future.

I worked in the public school system for nine years and I very much feel I am a born teacher. When I see progress, my students being able to do something they weren't able to do before or maybe better than they did before, it makes my heart sing.

  • More details about your skills

I have worked on many animal and vegetable farms and have experience with vegetable growing and maintaining, milking goats, cleaning chicken coops, feeding animals, etc.

I've even herded bulls over a small distance. I got thrown into the deep end with that one, so to speak. It's a story best told in person.

I have basic carpentry skills. I know how to use most tools, both hand held and electric.

I'm a good cook and have experience cooking for large groups of people. I used to hand-make bread from scratch. I can make perogies from scratch. I also love learning to cook new meals and teaching others. An Indian woman taught me how to make Indian food and that's a regular part of my personal menu now.

I'm a hard worker and fairly quick learner and always looking to improve my skills.

  • What else ...

My motivation for travelling is to experience life on this beautiful planet to the full. I'm not going to live forever and I want to get the most out of life that I can. I enjoy travelling solo and I enjoy travelling with companions so long as the group stays small. Large travel groups often come with many conflicts of interest.

Since the early 2000s I have also been very interested in alternative housing including straw bale, Tiny Homes, and especially Earthships. In 2016 I had the privilege of being able to volunteer alongside Michael Reynolds himself and his team when they built an Earthship on the Six Nations Reserve just outside Caledonia, Ontario. The aboriginal community welcomed us with open arms and showed their gratitude for the work we were doing by often bringing us meals at the end a long day. We were also invited to attend a powwow. It was another wonderful example of cross cultural bridge building.

I have access to medical technology that most people have never heard of. I own a device called a Delta laser from Radiant Life Technologies. Information can be found here: www.radiant-life-technologies.com. I bring it with me when I travel and all are welcome to use this healing device if they wish.

    In terms of interests...

I like all kinds of board games and card games. I'm a euchre player and frequently enter euchre tournaments. I could finish my day often by playing cards or board games before bed if given the opportunity.

    I like to read.

For exercise I like the outdoors, going for hikes, swimming, and doing yoga.

That's all I can think of right now, if you have any questions feel free to message me. I look forward to meeting you. :)
