I currently work in a Special Needs school in London. However, I have a lot of passion for working in the outdoors and love to muck in and get my hands dirty. I am great at working in a team, using my initiative and being proactive. I am physically fit, I practice Vinyasa Yoga most days and so feel comfortable doing jobs that require strength and endurance. I have included some key jobs I have worked that are relevant:
Karma yoga volunteer at House of Yoga - Currently volunteer at a yoga studio in Putney, being of service to maintain a calm and clean atmosphere and contributing to the yoga community by checking in with the regular clients.
Montesorri-style Forest School Educator for Little Forest Folk in South West London (2018-19) - creatively setting up and packing down an educational space in the woods for children aged 2-5 come rain and shine.
Camp Leader for the Bushcraft company (2018)- Living in Hatfield Forest for 3 months - teaching schools of children Bushcraft/survival skills such as fire-lighting, building shelters, cutting tools, wood collection. Providing fun and educational 24 hour care for 60 students on site and managing 5 other staff members. Frequently communicating with logistics team and camp managers in terms of supplies and camp wellbeing.
Volunteer on Camps International trip to Borneo and Cambodia (2014) (2 months) Staying in long-houses. Projects involved construction work - working in a team with cement and bricklaying - building accommodation for teachers on a school site (Cambodia) Reforestation and Beach clean up project in Sabah, Malaysia (Borneo)
Algarve working on a Horse riding centre/farm for 7 summers in my teenage years (2008-2015) - living on the farm - specialising in animal care, working with clients of all horse-riding abilities, taking groups of tourists out on hacks and farm maintenance ie fixing electric fences, organising haybails, preparing horsefeed, setting up farm for competitions.Age
