Description

I am an inquisitive and adventurous person; one who is driven by the beautifully desperate wish to experience the world and its people, all of it, if I can. In my life I have been guided by nature, and I still search out the places where I can be close to the ocean, mountains, forests, fields.
Norway, where I come from, has been the most privileged place to encounter my loves for, and explore outdoor sports. I only relatively recently got into surfing, which I have done as often as possible for more than a year, in the arctic north of Lofoten where I have lived. I ski, mostly ski touring in the mountains, and hike when there is no snow. Since I was young I have been sailing small boats, and in 2021 I sailed with a Swan 55 for three months.
I am positively inclined, and I believe that whenever there is a choice to be made regarding mood, we should choose happy. Creativity is one of the best things I have, and I use it to find solutions. The rest of my skills can be applied to execute them.
The lifestyle I search is a diversified and active one, but a day is filled with so much room and potential to get to know the depths of people. If you enjoy discussing philosophy, tell stories, share your art, maybe something you have written, or talk about a book you, me, or both love, then I will always be here for that!
My journey this year brings me to South and Central America - very far from my own home! I am traveling alone, but I am super sociable, and I'm looking forward to meeting the wonderful people of the Americas! My goals are to see something unexpected, get in some real surf-time!, feel small amid some epic mountains, feel big in a lush rainforest, make friends every place, and learn everything I can.
Things that bring me happiness (in keywords!) are surfing, ski touring, sailing, the sun, well made music, art made by people I know, chocolate, growing plants and vegetables, hiking, literature, conversations to open my heart to, intricate jokes and sometimes even bad jokes.
That is a long list, probably not an exhilarating read, and it could be much longer. People have interests; yes we know. I think we are all addicted to finding common ground, even the smallest of them, and I too, hope that we can find our shared love for that one very niche thing.

Hotel and hostel: I have worked in several hotels and hostels, doing diverse work, but I've spent most of my time as a receptionist! Working in these places are worth it because of how social and fun it is, interacting with the guests and with others who work. I love to make the most of it, and set up events all the time! Football game? Massage circle? Movie night? I have been the leader of a local youth organization and have no problem being an event coordinator.

Gardening: I love cultivating and taking care of gardens, growing vegetables, even landscaping. Mostly I get it from my mom, who is a crazy garden lady. While I know my way around, I still have plenty to learn.

Maintenance/building: I am a practical girl, and if there is something to fix or something to build I can usually combine some logic with research and fix it myself!

Cooking: If I'm allowed to say so, I think I am a pretty good cook. While you probably won't be interested in tasting traditional Norwegian food, I have plenty of other dishes to share. As I don't eat meat myself, my signature dish is not meaty. I hope to learn some new recipes from new countries soon!

Teaching: I have some experience teaching and would love to continue to do so.
