We are a couple travelling around South America together for 6 months from June 2023 - January 2024

Description

We are Harry and Eleanor, both 25. This is our first time using Workaway:). We have other volunteer experience though (like WWOOFing), and would like to continue with this wonderful way of learning, sharing skills and culture. We would especially like to develop our Spanish language skills.

OUR INTERESTS:
- We enjoy the outdoors. When we can, we like to swim, climb, camp and hike.

- Music, dance, and food are also things we love! They are great tools for connecting with people, and get to know different cultures

- We both love of sustainable farming/growing and would like to learn about permaculture, agroforestry, community-orientated growing and self-sufficiency.

- Generally we love travelling and connecting with people; sharing ideas, conversation, creative collaborating, and games gives us life!

HARRY:
I'm an engineer and writer. I'm very comfortable with numbers and computers but creative writing is my artistic outlet. As well as engineering, I have experience in DIY & constuction, hospitality and marketing. I also love animals and have experience looking after them. I'm interested in sustainability and my dream is to one day start a seaweed farming and ocean growing project. I also enjoy diving and would like to become a dive master. I love sharing stories and playing games.

ELEANOR:

I have recently been volunteering in Lima with an NGO that create green community spaces in the peripheral districts of Lima. Work includes construction, planting trees, painting and designing, communication with communities.

I come from an arts background, so creativity is of massive importance to me. I’m passionate about how it can help nourish and enrich life in various ways. I am hoping to use, share and deepen my skills in the arts whilst traveling; making, crafts, drawing and applying the imagination. I always need to be creating something - cooking, fermenting, dancing, music, making jewellery, painting, drawing, writing: anything that involves the imagination! The imagination is key:) I have a TEFL qualification and teaching experience and am passionate about education and learning. I also love community projects and would like to keep explore ideas of community.
