Hello, I’m a full time solo traveller from Hong Kong🇭🇰 I started travelling since Dec 2021 and still on my way to explore the world.

I’m a sport lover.I like challenging myself and trying new things. My favourite sport is trampoline and scuba diving. I also love hiking, camping, swimming, climbing, etc. 🏊🏼‍♀️🏄🏽‍♀️🧗🏼‍♀️🤸🏽‍♀️🤿🏔 🏕I would like to learn skiing and surfing in future.

I always think there is no excuse if you really really love something. So, do what I love and love what I do. Life is too short, don’t waste it. That’s why I started to solo travel.

I’m a lifeguard and I have First-aid certification(in HK).
I am also a part time coach of swimming and trampoline. Therefore, I have experience in teaching children.
I also have worked in hand shake beverages shop, croissants shop and pancakes shop as part-time assistant. So I’ve got some experience on catering and customer services.

I know some basic woodwork, DIY skills, painting which was learn from drama backstage.

The most relaxing workaway I’ve ever done. This is a magical place that many of us got some good news when we stay here. And I don’t know what kind of magic that makes many of guests/ volunteers extend their stay. I requested to stay 2 weeks and extended 5 more days because I really like the vibe of the hostel and the team. This is where I feel… read more like warmer than home because of everyone’s kindness and cordiality.

The main tasks here is playing cards and watching movies with Mani. Haha jk… I help with the reception tasks which basically just check in the guest and help arranging scooter rental. There’s Morning, Afternoon and Night shift (5hrs) which volunteers take turn to do it but also very flexible to change the schedule within us. Usually before/ after shift, there’s plenty of free time to explore the area or just hang out in the hostel. Also, we can use the scooter for free during our day off so we can explore the area easily. I also helped in Mani mama’s store which basically just to restock the inventory. You can have delicious Indian food there after finishing the task. (yum yum :P)

Mani is the kind of person that who can be friend in the first second you meet. So working here is no stress but so much fun. He is very flexible and willing to listen any option. We can always tell him our concern and feelings and he always figures out something to help us. I can see a lot of improvement from the beginning to the end of my stay (e.g. better cooking environment). He try his best to make sure our stay is comfortable and happy. Our relationship is like friends more than host and volunteers.

The team is usually 3-8 volunteers (during my stay) so you will never get bored. I am so lucky to meet all the amazing volunteers here and I feel like we’re family even just know each other a short period of time. We go trekking, watching sunrise and visiting the mosque during Ramadan together. We take turns to prepare dinner and have dinner together every night, sometime lunch also. Despite the limitation of ingredients(which is actually more than enough if you are creative) and utensils, we managed to make many delicious meals. (p.s. don’t forget to try to ask Mani to cook!!!)

All in all, for me here’s the best place to rest and plan my next step because I get many inspiration from the others and staying in such a relaxing environment. There’s many backpacker so is perfect for sociable people. But for me as an introvert helping here, I also feel so comfortable to get along with the other and no need to pretend talkative. To be honest, it’s not the perfect accommodation because it’s just a budget hostel. But for me everything is amazing here and for sure I will come back to visit Cameron Highland again.
