Description

Hi there :)
My name is Gitta and my home base is in Berlin, Germany.
For a while I am striving to give my life a deeper sense. I started to make a change at first career-wise in 2015. After working 10 years in the energy sector I am now trying to make a contribution in social services. Initially I worked in Elderly Care. Currently I am working in the matter of workplace safety (for the German Social Accident Insurance as a Controlling Consultant / Data analyst and Team Lead).
When I am not working I love spending my holidays for volunteering. I would like to assist where my help is needed :) I went volunteering already in Nepal, Uganda, Guatemala and India. The work over there was always fun for me: In Nepal and Uganda I worked with kids in orphanages, in Guatemala I got the chance to help out in a Christian Mission with their work to support Mayan communities in rural places and in India I got involved in environmental protection where I did beach cleaning, plastic upcycling and helped with raising awareness (on social media) for a plastic free lifestyle.
And apart from that (when time is not enough for a proper volunteering stay) I try to travel the world as often as possible. In Europe I always feel home and could luckily got to know already many places. My latest trips overseas led me to Australia (three times - I love it), Sri Lanka, California in the US and New Zealand...
I am curious about discovering the world and get to know the people and the nature this beautiful planet is holding for us.

I am really good in caring for the people around me :) I love to interact with all kind of human beings. I like playing with kids, teaching children, looking after disabled or entertaining elderly person.
Furthermore there is a lot of love in my heart for the outdoors and for animals. I am always fascinated by the nature of an animal and by experiencing their way of life, both domestic and wild animals.
Due to my profession I do like administration tasks as well. Furthermore I could imagine helping with welfare campaigns or educational projects etc both as backoffice and as field work.
And last I don't mind getting my hands dirty. I am passionate about any kind of work as long as I can contribute and make the world a better place.
