Description
Hi! I'm a touring musician/farmhand based in Philadelphia seeking to gain experiences with more land-based projects while exploring different areas of the US, ultimately trying to figure out where I want to relocate to. I'm eager to get more hands-on experience with permaculture farming, natural building practices, and homesteading projects.
I'm starting out my journey around Austin TX in october and plan on staying in texas for a bit before making my way west and north.Languages spoken

More details about your skills
I've worked three seasons on a 26-acre vegetable and flower farm and have a good amount of general knowledge about planting and harvesting in that kind of setting, in addition to enthusiasm and capacity around physical and team-oriented work. I have enough know-how to do basic carpentry projects on my own but have also benefitted from helping out with various construction projects (concrete pouring and cinderblock masonry, installing pex tubing, felling and stripping trees for roundpole timber framing) - always excited to help and learn new skills on this front. I can pretty comfortably wield a mower or a weed whacker, and have some experience driving tractors.
I enjoy critical thinking, working with numbers, creative problem solving. I am hardworking, like to be helpful, love to be outside, appreciate open mindedness and straightforward communication.
I like to paint, draw, weave, sew, play guitar and various other instruments. Would be happy to help with creative projects.Age
32
What else ...
I'm big into traditional folk music from various origins, singing in groups, weaving with foraged plant materials, playing games of all sorts, backpacking + camping, and making art.
I also want to note that I'm nonbinary and use they/them pronouns, and that I usually go by G rather than Genevieve :-) If this kind of thing is unfamiliar to a host I am happy to share about it and am definitely understanding about the learning curve! That said, it would feel important to feel mutual respect among those I'm sharing space with, so if a host has anti-trans or homophobic perspectives then it is probably not a good fit for me.Some more information
