Hello there!! ✈️

My name is Frances, and I go by Frances, Fran, Cica 🌺

I am an adventurous person who loves to travel. Experiencing new cultures and meeting new people is the best teacher. I really enjoy learning through others and new places. I believe in being a traveler NOT a tourist!

My hobbies include climbing, hiking, snowboarding, and backpacking. Most anything outdoors I like! I also enjoy playing the guitar and playing card games. Although I am more introverted, I still want to meet other travelers and hosts. I am a pretty straightforward and direct person too.

Currently, I am taking time away from work to travel across Europe. But when I'm at home I work as a carpenter. I build and teach building skills to volunteers with the organization "Habitat for Humanity", a non-profit. Social justice is a core value of mine. Seeing my work directly benefit others brings me a lot of satisfaction.
So, I might be a good fit if you have a construction or DIY project. I also love spending time with my nieces and nephews, and have some experience with kids too. More than anything, I am flexible and always willing to learn new things.

I am seeking to continue my travels with Workaway to experience new cultures, meet new people, and make memories. Most of my best memories are from previous travels, and I want to make more! I have really enjoyed the Workaway I am currently staying in, and can't wait to do more.

I have broad experience in construction: carpentry, drywall, painting, putting in windows and doors, concrete, and roofs.

I have some domestic experience: cleaning, cooking, hosting. I like to cook for myself, and have also cooked for larger groups of people. I also really enjoy sewing and making craft projects. Most recently, I have sewn some dresses for myself.

With kids, I take care of my nieces and nephews often, aged 10, 4, and 1. I also volunteer with middle-school aged kids at my church. So, I enjoy spending time with kids. Especially teaching them.

I have good outdoor skills: reading maps, making structures, climbing, and belaying.

I also have some basic computer skills.

I am super interested in learning how to farm.

What I don't know, I am eager to learn!! I am very adaptable, ready to follow directions, and can work independently.
