  • Description

My name is Floriane, I’m 21 years old and from Belgium (I speak French).
After starting two years of physiotherapy studies, I’m currently taking a break (a gap year) and have become very interested in alternative and natural medicine.

I truly love nature and I’m always curious to learn new things – I consider myself very open-minded.
In my free time, I enjoy going on long walks, being outdoors and close to animals, photography, and working on creative projects. I also love repairing, transforming, and giving objects a second life rather than throwing them away.

Environmental issues are really important to me. Even though I don’t have space for a big vegetable garden, every square centimeter of my small garden is dedicated to growing something! I also do my shopping at a local co-op that sells seasonal, local, and zero-waste products – where I also work on weekends.

I’m looking to step out of my comfort zone, open myself up to the world, discover new cultures, meet inspiring people, learn new skills and knowledge, and contribute wherever I can.
Where I live, I often feel a bit out of sync with people my age, which is why I’m excited about connecting with others who share similar values and who enjoy deep, meaningful conversations.

  • More details about your skills

I don’t have a specific area of expertise – what I love is trying different things, learning continuously, and doing my best. Once something is clearly explained to me, I can manage on my own, and I truly enjoy helping out and discovering new techniques and skills.

Last summer, I had the chance to spend a month WWOOFing in Slovenia and Croatia, working on farms. I learned a lot about farm life, ecology, preservation methods, and self-sufficiency. It was an amazing experience that deepened my interest in sustainable living.

Here are some things I enjoy and/or have some experience in:
    • DIY & crafts: painting, macramé, embroidery, scrapbooking, crochet, sewing, drawing, engraving, woodworking, sculpture, etc.
    • Gardening and working in the vegetable patch
    • Taking care of animals
    • Photography
    • Massages
    • Certified in art therapy
    • Certified in first aid

  • What else ...

I may not be the strongest person or the most skilled in one specific area, but I can assure you that I’m highly motivated to discover the world and new cultures while having a positive impact wherever I go. Helping people and doing my best are what truly drive me every day.
I’m curious by nature and always eager to learn so I can keep improving myself.

It’s true that I don’t really enjoy spending too much time indoors, especially in front of screens… The more time I spend outside, the better I feel. That’s why I absolutely love walking in my free time. I had a dog throughout my childhood, so I got used to going on long walks every day – and that habit stuck with me. I truly believe walking is one of the best ways to explore the world around us, to discover hidden corners, and to feel deeply connected to nature. It also has a meditative effect on me, helping to ease any stress or anxiety I might feel. “I always need to be on the move; sitting still and resting is hard for me. I constantly want to explore and discover more and more.
