Hello!
I'm a very easy going and friendly person currently travelling in Australia.
I am a career changer from a fashion designer to gardener having spent the last four years formally training in various gardens including Audley End in Essex, a small private estate in South Gloucestershire and RHS Wisley as one of their diploma students. Whilst I look for the right full-time horticulturist job, I would like to have a few small adventures in the UK and abroad.
I'm happy to get stuck into any task no matter how small or big, varied or repetitive and always have a positive attitude (despite our wet climate!).
I grew up in rural England and love the countryside, but spent five years in London and a year travelling Australia, so am open to meeting different people and new experiences.
I grew up in a large bustling family and am just as happy surrounded by people as I am spending time by myself. In my spare time I love running, hiking, exploring new places, baking, going to museums and galleries, drawing and reading.
I am looking for opportunities where I can get really stuck into the work, meet some new people and use the horticultural knowledge and physical skills I have recently gained.

I love baking and cooking, I make a great brownie! I grew up in a large family so am happy babysitting and looking after children. I studied fashion design so am good creatively, I can sew and draw and help with any creative project. I am currently retraining as a gardener (I’ve been volunteering at the Melbourne international flower show and the botanic gardens) so am keen to help out in the garden too. My wider family are all farmers so am comfortable in a farm environment and can get stuck in with farm life. I've also had experience working as a cleaner in a couple of hotels so am happy to help around the house

What else ...
Whilst I love all aspect of gardening, I'm particularly interested in historic gardens and productive growing. One day I would love to work in a walled kitchen garden growing plenty of veg and cut flowers.

I had a really brilliant week with Robyn and Roger in Bilgola Plateau. They were both very friendly, welcoming and instantly made me feel at ease in their home. Their dog is very sweet too! I had a very comfortable bedroom with sea 'glimpses' and a private bathroom as well.

Felicity stayed with us for a week and it was a pleasure to have her with us. She worked hard in our garden everyday and took advantage of the beaches in her time off. She is easy going, honest and reliable. We shared stories and meals and experienced exactly what the Workaway exchange has to offer. We would have her back anytime.

I spent just over a week with Diana and Rob and I had such a great time. They are both very friendly, easy going people and instantly made me feel welcome and at home.

I had such a brilliant time with Lyle, Lili and their children. I felt very lucky to have stayed with them for my first workaway experience.
