  • Description

Hola! I'm Esther - a super passionate, dedicated, and creative community engagement professional working in environmental justice. I'm very excited to be travelling Latin America from July - September 2024, learning Spanish, and connecting deeply with the rich traditions, diverse cultures and incredible nature here :)

I have 10+ years experience working with collaboratively with people and communities from all walks of life, from leading on youth programmes, to teaching cycling to refugees, to participatory research in air pollution - including museums, schools and libraries. I have relished roles as an educational facilitator, speaker, coach and manager at various levels, working in world-leading institutions such as London's Science Museum to award-winning science & arts festivals.

    I'm particularly keen on:
    - Improving my Spanish, learning about local ways of life
    - Working with communities/children/young people on environmental issues or sustainability education
    - Cultural exchange
    - Dance/yoga/embodied movement

I'm currently on my summer break from my MSc in Environment, Politics & Development (SOAS). I have special interests in post-extractivism, feminist approaches to Degrowth and Just Transitions. I'm originally from Newcastle (the most friendly city in the UK!), and live in London, from South East Asian heritage.

I have a longstanding interests in environmental justice, meaningful community participation, advocacy and activism. Get in touch if you'd like to work together to make a more equitable, caring and collective living planet for all 🌍

Studying a Joint Honours degree with an international year in Melbourne has given me a broad perspective, enabling me to adapt quickly to new environments. Being a university course rep and having interned for major museums and charities has made me work critically, responsibly and independently. My passions lie in interacting with a wide range of people and gaining new experiences.
