Hi, I'm Emily! I currently am spending most of my time working at an outdoor science camp, going on long walks and bike rides, hiking with friends, reading, cooking, playing guitar, and making art. I love being outside and I love meeting new people and sharing stories and experiences. I am looking to enjoy life for a little while in a new place, preferably volunteering my time towards anything that serves local communities or the earth in some way.

I am passionate about environmental work such as land restoration and have been a part of projects such as tree plantings and revegetating coastal dunes in California. I studied biology in college and focused largely on ecology and botany and have loved sharing what I know about the ecosystems around me with the kids that I teach. Teaching and connecting with kids has been such rewarding work and I hope to continue getting to do so.

I have experience in three main fields: teaching/childcare, botany, & customer service.

I have been working at an outdoor education school this past year with 11-12 year olds, so I have experience teaching kids, as well as leading outdoor adventures for them!

I studied biology and botany in college and have had lots of hands-on work with things like planting trees, growing plants in nurseries, gardening, identifying plants, and conducting botanical research.

I worked at a restaurant for three years and have exceptional customer service skills!

My recent obsessions have been hacky sack and bananagrams. I'm training for a 10k right now, love yoga, have an extensive house plant collection, and sometimes make ceramics and jewelry. I also grew up playing soccer and am always looking for opportunities to play!
