Description
I'm Elisa, 30 & Italian. I joined the workaway community after volunteering & travelling solo around Europe in my 20s: I'm excited to find new communities, broaden my sight, check my privilege, embrace diversity, challenge myself ❤️
I studied Art History & Visual Culture in Italy and in the UK. I'm very passionate about art activism, community art and performing arts in general.
I'm a folk dancer: I dance traditional Southern Italian styles (Pizzica, Tammurriata, Tarantella). I love learning new dances and sharing what I've learned so far with whoever is interested. I also recently fell in love with Irish dance and I've started taking classes (I'm definitely a beginner tho :'D)
I'm currently a vegetarian, but I 100% support the vegan lifestyle and ethical choice (I'm trying to be more and more plant-based every day).Interests

I used to work in Marketing & Communication, so I could help with social media if needed.
I worked with children for 8 years; I used to be a nanny (with both Italian and British kids), an English tutor for homeschooled English-speaking kids, and an English tutor for private families. I hold a TEFL qualification for teaching English to non-native speakers.
For many years I volunteered with kids of a Roma camp, organizing various activities (homework, local festivals, games, etc.).
I volunteered in a community library in London where I planned Art & crafts workshops.
I also volunteered in Southern Italy in the lands confiscated from the mafia and returned to the community, where I did some rudimental agriculture, as well as cleaning, house chores and a bit of house building.Age

The place is situated in a very quiet environment and surrounded by nature, it was pretty amazing just to walk out of the door or look at the sky at night. What's been done with the building itself so far it's incredible: the place, an ex sanatorium, has been completely restored to… read more
