Hello world! Here's a little bit about my goofy self and the things I hold dear:

To me, the three most important attributes a person can exhibit are empathy, curiosity, and discipline. With empathy, we can step into another's position (whether it be a zebra, a rock, or a fellow human) to better relate, communicate, and have compassion for those around us. Next, curiosity brings color and interest to our existence. Life isn't worth living if we are not exploring, seeking adventures, or questioning the nature of the world! Finally, self-discipline works behind the scenes to create a purposeful life that leads to fulfillment. To turn dreams into reality, we must set goals and work to achieve them. I can't go a day without learning something new, pushing my boundaries, or connecting to the source of life within everything! :D

When I have time off from work, I like to engage in hobby projects and skills I'm cultivating. On the creative side drawing, painting, and photography are fun for me. I also love reading and listening to music or podcasts. On the more active side, I like to get outside and move my body. I cherish my yoga and meditation practice and also enjoy swimming, hiking, and weight lifting. Overall, I'm a down-to-earth, nature-lover who thinks deeply and is a bit addicted to adventure.

I admire the concept of self-reliance or small community living. It liberates the individual and allows communities to live in a state of harmony and mutual support. With this in mind, I'm more of a do-it-myself kind of girl.

I have dreams of supporting a sovereign food system, but for now I do my best in my little Midwest town. The kitchen can be an oasis for me, where I homebrew kombucha, ferment cabbage into sauerkraut, and whip up some yummy recipes. At my local YMCA, there's a community garden which I volunteered at. Together, we would prepare the garden beds, plant the seeds, and enjoy the fruits of our labor come harvest time. Here, I introduced a compost bin and guided new gardeners on proper plant care. I've spent some time at a chestnut farm where I harvested large quantities of the nuts, learned beekeeping techniques, and set up an outdoor kitchen. I'm always down for a hands-on project, from gardening to carpentry and anything in between.

Ever since I was young, I loved helping my dad out in the garage with car maintenance and tools. Together we built my bedframe, our outdoor picnic table, raised garden beds, and several shelves and home decor goodies. I'm definitely not a professional handywoman, but I know my way around tools and with a bit of guidance I'm sure I can be helpful!

With my passion for art and creativity, I have some graphic design skills and can make cool edited pictures/videos to post on social media or just for fun. I am also a Nationally Registered EMT in the United States. With this license, I am prepared to assist in life-threatening emergencies or promote healing of mild injuries.
