What motivates me most is the opportunity to help others and make a positive impact, even in small ways. I genuinely enjoy being someone others can rely on, whether it’s offering support, sharing knowledge, or simply being present. That sense of connection and usefulness gives me a strong sense of purpose.

Nature is another source of deep happiness for me. Spending time outdoors helps me recharge and feel grounded. I particularly love hiking, rock climbing, and any kind of water activity—whether it’s sailing, hiking, or just being near a lake or ocean. These moments remind me to slow down, breathe, and appreciate the world around me.

I also find joy in being around children. Their honesty, curiosity, and energy are contagious, and I feel inspired by their way of seeing the world. Whether it’s volunteering, babysitting, or just playing with kids in my family, I always walk away feeling lighter and happier.

All these experiences remind me of what truly matters: kindness, connection, and staying curious.

More details about my language interests
Since I was little, I’ve grown up in an environment where both Mandarin and Taiwanese (Taigi) were spoken. I learned English through formal education at school, and later developed an interest in French during university, which led me to start learning it as well. One of the reasons I joined Workaway is to improve my French skills through cultural and language exchange. I also have experience as a Mandarin tutor for children in Taiwan, which makes me well-suited for language exchange activities or any tasks involving teaching or communication.

I’m a fast learner who easily adapts to new environments and challenges. During university, I organized educational camps for children in rural areas, where I helped design lesson plans and spent time teaching and playing with the kids. This experience taught me a lot about responsibility, teamwork, and how to connect with children through both learning and fun.

I also grew up helping my grandmother on her farm, so I’m very familiar with nature, physical work, and the rhythm of outdoor life. Whether it’s planting, harvesting, or taking care of the land, I enjoy getting my hands dirty and working in natural settings.

In addition, I love cooking—especially Asian cuisine. I’m particularly good at making fried rice and chicken noodle soup, and I really enjoy preparing meals for others. Cooking is one of the ways I show care, and I’m always happy to help in the kitchen.

These experiences have given me strong communication skills, patience, and a deep respect for community and the environment. I’m excited to learn more, help wherever I can, and contribute positively.

I majored in Political Science at university, and I’m passionate about reading, fitness, and outdoor activities. I’m also a great conversationalist and love engaging in interesting discussions with people from different backgrounds. I enjoy learning about others’ perspectives and ideas, which makes me an easy and enjoyable person to talk to. My friends also enjoy chatting with me, even when we have different opinions, because I respect and appreciate diverse viewpoints. Additionally, I’m currently learning photography and practicing writing, as I have a deep appreciation for all things beautiful.
