Hello! We are Eden and Lowena. We are both 21 and are studying Environmental science at Murdoch university and also History and International relations at Melbourne university.
I am Eden andwas born and raised in the seaside city of Brighton in the UK with my sister and parents in the south-east of England. I was brought up constantly going on camping trips, long walks, wild swimming, and generally being outside.
I have lots of experience on workaway and have stayed some incredible places from a wildlife sanctuary in Bolivia to working at Hostels in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru to spending two months working on farms in Spain. I also have experience working in restaurants since I was 16 and educational outreach with my university.
I'm Lowena from Melbourne and grew up in the suburbs having a pretty similar outdoors based childhood to Eden and love the environment, nature and hiking just as much. I haven't done a workaway yet but am really exited to get involved and use this platform.
I have lots of experience working in restaurants and bars and spent a year working at a hostel in Cairns in 2022 which I loved. I have also travelled a lot through Australia and Europe and just love experiencing new places and environments
We both joined workaway to gain new experiences, meet amazing new people and experience other cultures in a fun and helpful way. We also want to do this to take a bit of time to stop, live a bit more of a simpler life and focus on one task, project, place &/or group of people and really live life to the fullest. So far it has done all this and more for Eden and we cant wait to meet and stay with many more hosts together.
Thanks for reading this and we look forward to meeting, working and learning with lots of people in the future :)Interests

Hi, we both have many skills but the most important one is a want and willingness to learn! We are both fast learners and and a very hard workers so are adaptable your project and needs.
In terms of practical skills we are both well versed in how to properly clean a house, do laundry, tidy rooms, wash dishes etc. We both love to cook and knows many great dishes like Eden's ratatouille, veggy mushroom burgers and Lowena's sambol salad chickpea curry that we'd love to share and make for you, as well as basic staples like eggs, rice, pasta, etc
Eden's past workaway experience:
I have worked on multiple farm stays in Spain and have basic permaculture skills like knowing how to prepare and rework beds, cut away disease like blight from tomatoes and harvest a range of produce. This has also given me great work ethic and taught me how to do big manual work fast and efficiently.
I have also worked at multiple animal sanctuaries including one in Bolivia with spider monkeys and one in Mexico with dogs. There I learnt how to manage animals and their care, from coordinating with other volunteers on feeding and walking to always ensuring the safety and security of the animals. It also taught me how to deal with stressful situations and how to keep my calm and productively work through any issues. I also really loved this work and found I gained so much from spending so many hours just working with and being around these incredible animalsAge

What else ...
In my free time I love to surf as much as I can, read, practice my Spanish, go camping, listen to podcasts and music, watch movies, slackline, do some yoga and meditation, go on dog walks and play ukulele.
I have been using workaway for a couple years now and it has given me so much. I have been able to travel South America and Europe on a very limited budget, meet the most amazing people and have some experiences I will never forget. I really do love this website and what it allows people to d and can’t wat to work with more incredible hosts. Some more information

What a great experience.
I got accepted last minute and it was really easy due to quick and responsive comunication.
The work it's self is very fair, basic housekeeping every morning or simple reception duties/tasks. I wasn't ever asked to do more than the agreed hours.
The organisation as a whole was also great, we got a timetable at the… read more

The people here are so lovely and I felt like I was welcomed into the family from my very first day.
In terms of other volunteers, you are living with around 3-7 other people, which I really enjoyed and loved getting to know and work with.
I won't lie, things here are often raw and sometimes hard.… read more
