  • Description

Hello! my name is Eden and I'm an 20 year old that is currently studying Environmental Science at the University of East Anglia in Norwich England.
I was born and raised in the seaside city of Brighton with my sister and parents in the south-east of England. I was raised constantly going on camping trips, long walks, wild swimming, and generally being outside.

I'm not too sure what I want to do in the future but that is part of the reason that I'm doing work away. However, I do know I want to do something where I'm outside and involved in nature, conservation, etc.

I am part of workaway to gain new experiences, meet amazing new people and experience other cultures in a fun and helpful way. I also want to do this to take a bit of time to stop, live a bit more of a simpler life and focus on one task, project, place &/or group of people and really live life to the fullest.

  • More details about your skills

Hi, I have many skills but the most important one is a want and willingness to learn! I am a fast learner and and a very hard worker so am adaptable your project and needs.
In terms of practical skills I am well versed in how to properly clean a house, do laundry, tidy rooms etc. I also love to cook and know many great dishes like my ratatouille, vegy mushroom burgers and sambol salad that I'd love to share and make for you, as well as basic staples like eggs, rice, pasta, etc

I have worked on multiple farm stays in Spain and have basic permaculture skills like knowing how to prepare and rework beds, cut away disease like blight from tomatoes and harvest a range of produce. This has also given me great work ethic and taught me how to do big manual work fast and efficiently.

I have worked at multiple animal sanctuaries including one in Bolivia with spider monkeys and one in Mexico with dogs. There I learnt how to manage animals and their care, from coordinating with other volunteers on feeding and walking to always ensuring the safety and security of the animals. It also taught me how to deal with stressful situations and how to keep my calm and productively work through any issues. I also really loved this work and found I gained so much from spending so many hours just working with and being around these incredible animals.

  • What else ...

In my free time I love to surf as much as I can, read, practice my Spanish, go camping, listen to podcasts and music, watch movies, slackline, do some yoga and meditation, go on dog walks and play ukulele.

I have been using workaway for a couple years now and it has given me so much. I have been able to travel South America and Europe on a very limited budget, meet the most amazing people and have some experiences I will never forget. I really do love this website and what it allows people to d and can’t wat to work with more incredible hosts.
