Description

We are Emily & Dylan, our day jobs have been as a neuro-scientist and space engineer, however we are now taking some time out to travel & explore our other interests. We love nature and ecology, enjoying getting outside and seeing what critters we can find. We go walking & bird watching, paddle boarding on the rivers in the UK and diving & snorkeling when ever we can! We are also interested in living along side nature, particularly re-wilding projects and sustainable farming. We are looking to get stuck in volunteering so we can explore these passions, contribute to exciting projects and meet interesting people along the way. We look forward to meeting you and the adventures that lay ahead.

Emily studied Biology at University and has been trained in ecology and marine biology techniques, including species identification and underwater surveying. She grew up on a farm in rural Ireland and so has plenty of experience with animals and nature, as well as in general farm upkeep. She is also a keen crafter and sewer and tries to make some of her own clothes, and she previously worked as a potter.

Dylan is working in the Space industry as a thermal design engineer for satellites. He has experience in designing mechanical/thermal systems including using CAD and analysis software. He also good with MS Excel & light programming. He has also worked in maintenance for historic buildings with experience in manual labor and general handy man tasks. He is interested in learning about thermally efficient structures such as houses & for growing plants, as well as using satellite data to monitor the health of eco-systems particularly coral reefs. Dylan also gets involved with outreach in science & space.

We both have our PADI Openwater SCUBA qualification, and Emily has her advanced. We both have a keen interest in nature & ecology and have been developing our species identification including birds, insects, bats, reptiles, plants & fungi! (UK based, but looking to explore)
