Hi, nice to meet you!

I'm Bernadett (Detti), a 21-years-old Scandinavian Studies student with a specialisation in Swedish language and literature from Hungary with an endless love for life and all the adventures it might bring my way. I was born and raised in a countryside smalltown before moving to a bigger city for high school at 15, then to the capital city, Budapest, for university.

My two loves in this life are languages and travelling: at 18 I moved to England to work as a summer au-pair in the London suburbs at the world's loveliest, kindest host family, then at 21 I moved to Sweden for a year as an Erasmus exchange student, and that's where I currently am while writing these lines. I speak Hungarian and English fluently while my Swedish is on a solid B2 level right now. I can read Danish and Norwegian as well as understand some German and Italian.

In the beginning of September I'll have to move back to Hungary to finish my BA and write my thesis, but before that I would like to make a long-term dream of mine coming true and try my hand at volunteering with Workaway.

I've been taking various jobs since I was sixteen, my experience comes from the hospitality industry and retail, but I've also worked as a customer support associate, a translator and a ticket clerk. I did morning shifts and night shifts too so I'm quite flexible in that matter. I'm reliable, diligent and very much solution-oriented. I know my own boundaries and I respect yours.

I adore hiking, sunsets, mountains, reading and writing, sharing knowledge and exploring new pieces of the world. So far I've been to 21 countries in Europe and I can't wait to expand my list even more.

Fun facts about me:
- I don't do makeup but I braid my hair before going to sleep every night
- I played handball for 5 years (I was the goalkeeper)
- I almost always travel solo
- I've been living in dormitories since I was 15
- I'm an expert when it comes to low budget cooking
- if you connect the birthmarks on the left side of my face you'll get a little house :)
