Description
Hello!
My name is Dana and I am passionate about experiencing and embracing this life to the fullest :)
I love connecting with people (and animals!), exploring new places, discovering new perspectives, flavours, sounds and sensations!
Being in nature brings me joy as does teaching! I have quite some experience in teaching kids, varying from primary school (subjects like English, Dutch and mathematics) as surf- or theatre-camps, where I also teach yoga!
I like teaching yoga to adults aswell, but I would love to gain some more experience in this! I'm licensed in Sivananda Hatha Yoga and followed an Ashtanga complementary teachers course.
When I work at a place I like and welcomes me, I treat it like my home. I feel comfortable and at ease, I take responsibility and pay attention to details. I've been lucky enough to have had these home-like work-experiences in the past and look forward to more of those experiences :)Interests

In my opinion language is something magical, something to be studied deeply as it shapes not just the way we talk, but also the way we think and the way we look at the world around us. I have quite some experience in teaching Dutch and a bit in teaching English. I also taught Frech for a while, but this is a long time ago and my French-skills have sank a little bit, I'm afraid... I learned Spanish whilst living with a host family in Cusco, Peru for two months. Back then I could converse quite fluently, but this was in 2020 and my skills are a little bit rusty at the moment. I would love to get back into it!Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

I have had jobs since I was 12/13 years old and have always liked to work hard, connect with a nice team and have a good time whilst working our asses off!
I worked in several restaurants and on multiple festivals, which I absolutely loved! I've also worked in retail and like service/hospitality jobs!
Over the years I have worked at several primary schools, as a teaching assistant and for personal support of kids. I love working with kids and like to approach them out of mutual respect and equivalency. Right now I work at a high school, teaching complementary Dutch.
I worked at a kids' surfcamp for years, which was my absolute favourite job! Being at the beach and in the water all day was lovely, seeing the kids develop so much in just one week magical. I was in charge of day-planning, coördination and teaching yoga classes. I am not a (licensed) surf-instructor, but I assisted at all of the lessons.
I also worked at a kids' theatre which was also amazing, especially hosting the theatre camps and theatre birthday-parties was lovely!
I study pedagogical science and educational science, so academically I also think about kids and education a lot.
I got my 200hours-certificate of Sivananda Hatha Yoga in 2021 and ever since, yoga started becoming a bigger and bigger part of my daily life. I haven't always had a regular teaching practice, but I teach quite regularly. The moments I teach (mainly in parks, at beaches and in the woods, as I like to see yoga as a tool to connect with nature as well) were always moments filled with connection and magic. I would really like to expand my experience, knowledge and skills as a yoga-teacher as this feels very close to my heart.Age
