Hi! I'm from the United States and just got back from traveling around Australia with a Work Holiday visa. I love hanging out with my friends and family, as well as meeting new people. I was working a corporate job in my home town in North Carolina but wanted to be one with nature and live at the beach, so I decided to quit and move to Australia for a year. I love being outside, going on walks, doing yoga, and listening to music. I love animals and have had various pets growing up. My family has a farm so I have grown up around cows, chickens and kittens and love spending time there and searching for kittens in the barn in the spring. I love the ocean and got PADI Certified and learned to surf while in Australia. I went to college by the beach and haven't been able to get enough of it since! I live an active life style and eat healthy. While in Australia I had jobs bartending, cleaning charter yachts and pet sitting in different areas of Queensland. While in the Whitsundays, I lived on a sailboat docked at a marina for 2 months, while at times was tough (no shower on board, only had a single burner and kettle to use to cook that I couldn't have on at the same time without blowing a circuit) but overall was an amazing experience that I didn't want to move when my lease was up! I am extremely hard working, thus why the Work Holiday Visa in Australia and Workaway pique my interest. I got so many cool opportunities, experiences, and friends through my jobs in Australia that I want to continue to find in other parts of the world! Living in the Whitsundays, I was surrounded by the sailing/yachting industry and it sparked an interest in working in the industry. I have been looking into getting the necessary certifications and licenses (such as STCW) to work in the industry and am looking for Workaways that are geared towards learning more about sailing! I am also CPR and Oxygen Provider certified.

I think languages are so cool and would love to be bilingual. I have a basic knowledge in Spanish and very little french. I love listening to music in different languages and use it to learn the language. While traveling I have met many bilingual people and love finding out more about all the different languages. I have also tried to teach the non-fluent english speakers that I have met more english and vocabulary/sayings that are not as common in other languages/cultures by speaking slow and using my knowledge of other languages to explain.

I graduated college 2 years ago with a degree in Finance. Over the past 2 years I worked as an Operations Analyst at a bank. Through this job I gained and improved my skills in communication, computers/Microsoft Office, and teamwork. I was able to quickly learn multiple processes thoroughly while maintaining a clear line of communication to prioritize and coordinate with my teammates. I am always willing to learn new things as well and spread my knowledge with others. With my job I always went out of my way to help when there would be excessive amounts of work. If someone asks me a question, even if I have no involvement with the topic, I will find out an answer. Whether it be who to reach out to or just what the next steps would be, I am always willing to help. I have a very basic knowledge of Spanish and would love to learn more/get more confident in my abilities to speak it.
I love to cook and attempt to come up with new recipes using whatever random ingredients I have in the kitchen. I also have a sewing machine at home that I use to alter clothes I got second hand or repair different kinds of damages.
I am always willing to learn something new and I am not afraid to get dirty or do some heavy lifting. In high school I took a tech theater class which involved building the set for the school's musical. I learned how to use a jigsaw and other wood cutting equipment for both the set and projects for the class. While I am not a fantastic artist I love to get creative painting or photography. I have played piano since I was 10 and also know how to play guitar (not well).
I have worked at many restaurants in both front of house and back of house and do very well in a fast paced environment. I have also done child care over the past 10 years for children ranging from 4 months old to 14 years old and up to 10 kids at once. The child care has consisted of cooking, driving to school or after school activities, babysitting overnight, bed time, getting ready for school, and coming up with entertainment for the kids.

I love music and listen to a very wide variety and am always making new playlists. I love sharing music with others and always want to hear some new music. I always enjoy a concert or any kind of live music, whether it be at a restaurant or someone bringing out a guitar while hanging out. I like to read, mysteries mainly (I am a problem solver and like to figure out how its going to end). I am always up for some card games, arts and crafts, or any sports (volleyball, tennis, pickle ball, etc)
