Description
Our names are Courtney and Mattias, we have been together for almost 6 years and have lived in several countries/cities together. We both love to travel, learn about new cultures, be outdoors and experience new things.
We met in Berlin in 2019 where we both lived for a number of years. We have travelled a lot together and have done a lot of house sitting, both in Montenegro and in Australia. Our ideal way of travelling is getting to know locals and experiencing traditions, culture and a lot of nature. It gives us a lot of growth, and we try to offer back by helping however we can.
About Courtney:
I grew up in Australia, moved to Berlin when I was 22, and have recently moved back to my home country. In my 20's I worked in the film industry, but have recently changed careers as a Nurse. I love hiking, going to the beach, going to live concerts and shows, watching movies and in my spare time I make ceramics.
I discovered Workaway years ago via a YouTuber and was inspired by the idea! What a perfect way to meet locals, stay with likeminded people, and be able to get your hands dirty working! I was lucky to experience Workaway myself before I met Mattias in 2018. I had such an amazing experience and am excited to do it again. I have a lot of experience doing Couchsurfing also. This kind of cultural exchange travel really appeals to me and I have strong belief that it enriches your life like nothing else :)
I love animals and have been vegan for almost 8 years. If you are not a vegan, don't let this put you off! I am really easy going and can easily fend for myself.
About Mattias:
I grew up in Stockholm, Sweden and moved to Berlin in 2018, where I met Courtney. We moved to her home country, Australia in 2022. I am currently working as a Disability Support Worker and have previous experience in landscaping and carpentry. I love working with my hands and being outdoors.
I have travelled to many countries myself and with Courtney. She is very fond of Workaway and I am excited to see what it is all about! .
