I am an educator by trade, but a student at heart. I currently work part-time as an online college professor and I am also taking part in an MSc program in the north of Ireland. I am planning on taking the 2024-2025 academic year off from studying (at least formally) before (hopefully) starting a Ph.D. in 2025. I am looking for enriching ways to spend that time while continuing with my remote work.

I have stayed in at least two dozen hostels throughout the U.S. and Europe, and I am eager to volunteer for hostels needing help so I can further learn how they operate. My first Workaway experience in the summer of 2023 was at a hostel in Montana. In addition to gaining some amazing practical skills, I was able to meet one of my closest friends (featured prominently in my Workaway photos).

Even though I am currently chasing a career in academia, deep down, I hope my career will eventually lead me to own my own hostel and/or pub.

I am great at managing a variety tasks of based on their deadlines and priority levels. As a former classroom teacher, I managed classrooms with up to 28 students for six class periods a day in addition to navigating a multitude of education-related issues and requirements.

I believe that value can be found in all of life's experiences. I am interested in Workaway opportunities that provide me with new knowledge, skills, or cultural immersion. I would like to think that you will find me to be highly competent and dependable. If you provide me with a challenge, I will find a way to navigate and conquer it.

When I'm not immersing myself in academia, I absolutely love getting to be creative.

I love learning about history! If there's a museum nearby, I want to know about it! In my spare time, I also enjoy doing crafts like cross-stitching and making earrings out of resin.
