Hi! My name is Carmen and I am from the Netherlands. I just received my bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine and have to wait untill I can start the Master's degree. Waiting is not something I really enjoy so I decided to travel to Oceania! I am very excited to see what is going on the other side of the world.
After finishing high school I also went traveling for a year and learned about Workaway only during the end of my travels. Nevertheless, I have had an awesome experience living off grid surrounded by animals.
So far this year, I've worked on some farms in Australia, accompanied veterinarians to gain experience and travelled around with friends. I am a hard-working and optimistic person, who likes to get the job done. Hobbies include dancing around, chatting and being outdoors.Interests

More details about your skills
For the last 3 years, I have been studying veterinary medicine. This degree involves both theoretical and practical knowledge of all animals. Although I still have 3 years untill I can call myself a veterinarian, I love using all my knowledge to help animals.
I've worked as a ringer on one of the biggest cattle stations in Australia and I gained a lot of skills working with cattle.
I have had a job in the hospitality sector while studying. The job varied from organising very fancy dinners for 10 people, to large symposia for 500 people and everything in between. I learned a lot about people, food and service here.
Since the age of 6, I have been around horse stables daily. I have had my own horse with which I have been riding competitively as well as recreative. I mastered lots of skills around the horses, from riding and grooming to mucking out the stables. In addition, I do voluntary work with disabled people who want to do horseback riding.
Playing sports has always been a big part of my life and I have done things such as rowing, swimming, boxing, cycling and many more. This taught me a good deal of teamwork, perseverance and responsibility.
When I not physically active, I like to cook or read a good book and I can take care of myself.Age
