I spent part of March and April there and it was great. The work may be at a hotel or at the hostel, but you will sleep in the hotel. There's a big 24/7 swimming pool, lots of other volunteers, and monkeys :)

I spent a month in Santa Ana, at Nelson's hostel and had a great experience. The place is quiet and friendly, there you can also meet his friends and have a better cultural experience.
