  • Description

I’m a Swiss Carpenter/Builder and Graphic Designer who loves adventures through climbing, mountaineering, and traveling. Currently, I'm traveling with my girlfriend who is an Interior Designer, and coaches people to get organized and declutter.

To be balanced I need manual labor in my life and that's why I love to work with materials, plants, and animals. Working and living in a place connects you to the people, the nature and the culture around you like you never could traveling like a normal tourist. That's why we love the Idea of workaway and why we are trying to get to know California this way.

We would love to bring our creative and handy skills to our house and spend some time helping you and experience your way of life on your home turf.

  • What else ...

    December 2018 / January 2019:
I worked 6 weeks helping a friend build a campground and getting water with a ram-pump (amazing technology, google it!). We also got his garden started by building shaded beds and getting the seedlings started.

    November 2018:
Spent 1 month on a permaculture project on Bocas del Torro in Panama helping to renovate an eco-cabin and painting some signs and murals. Waves had to be ridden as well.

    October 2018:
For 6 weeks I worked at a Hostel on the Carribean coast of Colombia painting signs with the logo, a new bar menu, and other murals.

    August 2018:
I created a new visual identity (Logo, Website, Videos, Flyers, packaging) for a permaculture project in the Brazilian Amazon.

    June 2018:
I worked in a surf hostel in Arica building a new bar out of recycled wood.
    April:
In Pichilemu I worked in a Hostel doing maintenance work and preparing the breakfast.

    February/March 2018:
I worked on the coast of Chile constructing a cabaña and on the weekends I worked in a restaurant, making breakfasts, pizzas, empanadas, baking bread and mixing cocktails.

    February 2018:
On a vineyard close to Concepcion I did some designing and planning on their new Earthship-Bodega-Project.

    December 2017/January 2018:
I worked at an organic garden of a hotel in the Torres del Paine national park for 6 weeks. Taking care of the plants and the infrastructure. Building storage space, fixing the greenhouses and all sorts of broken stuff around the garden, setting up a new compost and installing a new sink.

    November 2017:
For 4 weeks I worked in a Hostel at the reception and redesigned their website. Baking bread, preparing breakfast, hosting the guest and setting up the new website with a content management system: www.hostelachalay.com

    September 2017:
I spent 4 Weeks in the Amazon Rainforest close to Manaus helping my friend on his permaculture farm. I used to cook for the crew, take care of the plants and help with planning and construction. You can see some of my activities in my photos. There is also a Video about his project on youtube: https://youtu.be/8nRj9LrPMcU?si=jmE7FMHPzdKGnh0g
