Description

Hi! My name is Salomé. I'm a huge nature and animal lover and also a music and language enthusiast. I love drawing, reading, writing and just being creative overall.
I have a rather calm personality but I love to hang out with people and share good conversations and laughs.

I've lived in Japan for a year, which was an eye-opening and mindblowing experience. It made me realize how privileged I was to be able to live in another country for some time and get to know a culture to that level. I'm looking for those kinds of experiences again, which is why I'm on workaway.

My major in college was 'environmental engineering', my focus there was mainly on species conservation, so I have some knowledge in ecology, biology and sustainability.

Also, I have some experience in animal care, since I've worked in an animal sanctuary with dogs, horses, pigs, sheep etc. for 7 months and on a farm with cows, donkeys etc. for another month.

I'm also familiar with gardening, since I worked in a botanical garden for 5 months, on a vegetable farm for 1 month and for another month in a place with a permaculture project. Plus I had a little garden myself and 40 pot plans (which still exist!!) so I think I know one or two things about plants ;)

I've also did an internship related to PR in a city office for 5 months, where I created content for a blog and helped organizing a Clean-Up-Day among other things.

What else ...

My main goal for travelling is learning. I want to learn about other cultures, languages, the way other people live their lives and about their beliefs. I want to learn more about nature and its creatures. I want to learn new skills by helping out. And maybe I also want to learn a thing or two about myself through workaway experiences.
