Description
We are a couple of kiwis who love travelling and going to Europe from October 2023. We are both now retired but are fit and healthy and love new adventures. Vicky was a medical administrator and Stuart was a Project Manager for Telecom. We used workaway before in 2011 and loved our time with our hosts in France and the United Kingdom, realising our wish to see a country more like the locals and not just as a tourist.
We have done a lot of kayaking over the last few years but now like to cycle (with E bikes!).
Vicky has volunteered at the SPCA (Society for the Protection and Care of Animals) for the last 6 years.
Over the last 3 years we have completely renovated our house built in 1950 and built vegetable gardens and planted fruit trees.
Although we are in our 60's, we are young at heart and are hard workers.

It was great meeting Stuart and Vicky on their travels. We stayed together for a few days and then they house and animal sat for us while we travelled for two weeks. Their confidence and calm love for the animals let us enjoy our time away without need to worry, and the gardens kept in good order. And there were also some repairs and extra bits… read more

Cathy and Keith are lovely hosts, very generous and easy to get on with. We worked with them for a week then house sat for them and loved looking after their dogs, cats, goats, hens, chicks and ducks.
Would be happy to return one day.

This was our first workaway experience and many thanks to Ruve and Michael for making it such an enjoyable time. They are fabulous hosts. Have just had a wonderful 5 days with Kari and her family.They were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Enjoyed the work and loved Tolley the dog and their 5 cats including 12 week old Penny! Would have loved to have stayed longer. Thanks for the insight into running a B & B. Would love to come back one day!
