Hi there, my name is Georgia.

I am Bulgarian and Swedish and I've lived in France and England. I speak English, French, Bulgarian (intermediate), and a bit of Italian.

This summer I plan on exploring my roots deeper, finding connection with nature and locals. I'd like to learn more Swedish while getting accustomed to the culture, myths, and history. I make art and I am interested in creating photos/works based off my experiences.

I'm a very curious and flexible person. I love exchanging ideas and learning new skills. I am here to help you out in any way needed and learn skills of growing, nurturing, and building. I volunteer at community gardens and have been exposed to my grandparents growing their own food in the French and Bulgarian countryside and would love to learn more!

I really enjoy art, hiking, swimming, reading and exploring. Sustainability, simplicity and open-mindedness are values I gravitate towards.

Thank you Tove for a most wonderful time, I hope to return one day!

I stayed here with Tove for a few weeks - it was my first time spending time in the Swedish countryside and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Although Tove is Norwegian, she taught me quite a bit about Swedish culture and language and we got to explore nearby sights… read more like the Bexell stones and Varberg.

It was truly wonderful and magical staying on the farm, waking up and seeing the horses and cats. My tasks included accompanying Tove to help out with the horses; I learned quite a bit of horse psychology, how to respect them and be attentive to their needs - there are also plenty of books in the house about horses if you happen to want to learn more about them beyond just riding them - I got to walk the horses with Tove and the two lovely girs that help her at times.

Tove made sure we stuck to the 5 hours a day agreement - I helped with the training area, getting rid of plants, cutting overgrowth around the fences, helping with watering. There are still things to help with and I encourage you to visit this part of Sweden! Tove is a great host - we cooked together, had plenty coffee breaks and great conversations - I definitely miss it :)

My favourite part of the day is when we go swim in the lake nearby - so beautiful, you have the lake all to yourself most days! Sometimes we also went to swim in the Kattegat sea. I felt at home in her sweet home, cudding with the friendly kitties.

I learned quite a bit abut farm life - it is my dream one day to live similarly to Tove - alongside animals, in harmony with the land. I learned how to listen more attentively, how to waste less and optimise everything - from the decisions I make and the food I eat. I learnt more about the importance of organisation and how to think long term through every choice I make. Being there also allowed me to decentralise the human and experience how both animals and humans are living alongside each other. We ought to be considerate of them, their needs, putting ourselves in their shoes in order to tune in to their way of communicating.

Overall I had an amazing experience, Tove is a gem, generous in sharing stories from her adventurous life and a comforting presence when I needed it - I never felt alone here on this farm, it was a rejuvenative time and I enjoyed accomplishing my tasks as it was meditative; I had so much space to think and reflect and be with myself :) Tove is a great communicator and don't be shy to ask her to re- explain or show you something again, she cares about doing things corectly and is generous with her time.

This was my first Workaway and I'm glad/grateful it was with Tove. Wishing you all the best if you happen to decide to stay here - I'm sure you will also have a great time and to Tove - thank you for all, wishing you all the best :))
