  • Description

Hi! I'm a university student in New Hampshire, USA, where I'm studying history, government, and environmental studies. I enjoy traveling and have held many jobs over the years, from babysitter to farm worker, legal intern, and journalist. I'm currently working as a freelance reporter covering events in my small town while taking classes at school. I also enjoy spending time outside skiing, hiking, and canoeing. I'm looking to spend three weeks in France improving my language skills and learning more about French culture at the end of the summer before I spend a term as a university exchange student in England.

  • More details about your skills

I am a highly organized person with strong academic and interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic. I recently spent a summer working as a summer camp counselor for 11-year-olds. Through being a camp counselor and babysitting for kids ages 2-10, I've learned how to work well with children. Though I've never been a workawayer before, I've spent time living with host families in Martinique and Sweden, so I know how to be a conscientious and helpful guest when living with a family overseas. I have been studying French for over eight years and I am not fluent (yet) but I have very strong language skills. My homestay in Martinique a couple years ago was with a French-speaking family and I was able to communicate well with them. I am looking to find a French family to live with at the end of this summer so that I can learn more about French culture, improve my French speaking skills, and make some new friends abroad!

  • What else ...

I enjoy reading, playing board games, playing the guitar, learning film photography, and spending time outdoors. I am an experienced at hiking and canoeing and have led multiple outdoor trips for young people. I am interested in history, philosophy, literature. I am also interested in finding community-based solutions to climate change. Because I study history and government in school, I'm always curious to learn about the history and politics in a new place (though we don't have to talk about politics if you would prefer not to).

I'm looking forward to meeting you!
